Smelt at School

You won't learn how to smelt gold here, but thanks for stopping by.

About Me

User: schoolsmelt
The smelting process (see above) is designed to remove impurities and capture the gold - it bears a striking similarity to writing a dissertation. Smelting's hotter, though.

kidlike

Today was just one of those perfect kid days in terms of timeframe and mood, combined with the financial freedom of being an adult. This means we goofed around and bought stuff, but it doesn't quite capture the languor and glee of the day. The weather was perfect - just a bit of too hot enough to make you appreciate it but not so much that it's cause for resentment or pique. There was a nap, and homemade shaved ice (twice!) with the pink ice-shaver that was one of the day's purchases. There was work on a project and reading a book (high fidelity) and a small bit of grocery shopping and a movie and ice cream. There was the fact that it's sunday but feels like saturday and there are two more days off. There was the funny conversation about the difference between why and what for and how come (a description for another post) and there was the wearing of baseball sleeves and capris for me, and of the straw porkpie hat for him (we are so stylish). It is perhaps time for the attempt at sleeping in the room that is still slightly too warm for sleep, but the drone of the fan is close enough to the hum of the air conditioner of my childhood that I bet I'll be away before I know it.
