Smelt at School

You won't learn how to smelt gold here, but thanks for stopping by.

About Me

User: schoolsmelt
The smelting process (see above) is designed to remove impurities and capture the gold - it bears a striking similarity to writing a dissertation. Smelting's hotter, though.

one thing to be grateful for

If you're going to have one consistently bad month per year, then it's nice that it's also the shortest month. Looking over my past blog entries, I see that historically, February has included insomnia, deadlines, family strife, an approaching sad anniversary, and general winter doldrums. Add those items to this year's crop of teaching/student issues, an extra helping of family strife, and some surprise additional committee responsibilities, and you've got the 2007 extended dance mix. Even though things won't rapidly improve once March roars in, at least I'll have been through the worst of it. Daylight saving time is right around the corner, too, so I guess that's one more thing to be grateful for.
